Family Ministries Mission: To enrich and minister to the families within our congregation and to create opportunities to reach out to new families in the love of God in Jesus Christ. Family Nights are year-round Wednesday night events to enrich and minister to the families within our congregation and to create opportunities to reach out to new families in the love of God in Jesus Christ. Family Night Includes: Family Ties, a teaching time and craft that parents and children participate in together that focuses on biblical parenting and family skills (designed for parents and children ages 4-11); a Video Bible Study that is open to anyone who wishes to attend; Choir Rehearsal for anyone high school and older who wishes to join us in making a joyful noise during Sunday worship services; a Nursery for kids ages 0-3 years old; and Confirmation for Jr. High students. Confirmation at First & Emmanuel is a joint class for our junior high students and their parents. Each student has a parent sponsor who joins them in confirmation every other week. This paring of parents and students allows the family to participate in the process of grounding our young people in their faith. Family Fellowship Events We routinely gather together to enjoy the fellowship of the Lord and of one another through events for the whole family. These include game nights, trips to the zoo, Easter egg hunts, and many other fun activities. |
