Seeking to Reach the Hurt and Lost of this World

At First & Emmanuel, it is our goal to have at least one member go on a short term mission trip each year and to support at least two missionaries both financially and spiritually.  The Lord exhorts all Christians to be His witnesses to the ends of the earth.  Whether you go out to the mission field or stay home and support those who go, we all should take part in spreading the good news of Jesus Christ.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  Matthew 28:19-20

Our Missionaries:

Meg T.

Kunming, China

Because it is illegal to be a missionary in China, Meg is a student at a Chinese University studying Mandarin.  She is a missionary with OMF that will be witnessing to her fellow students and those in her community from January, 2008 – December, 2009.

Can just one person change the world?  No, not alone.  Even that one person who is willing and able to go out and try needs the support of others.  Even Jesus relied on the faithfulness of others for food, housing and prayer during His mission.  Meg asks that we support her ministry first and foremost through prayer.  Pray that:

·       God will prepare the hearts of the people she meets in China;

·       The Holy Spirit will speak through Meg;

·       The Chinese Christian Church will continue to grow and God will protect the underground congregations and leaders;

·       The governmental restrictions on churches and Christians will be lifted; and

·       God will use Meg to make a difference in the people she meets in school and on the street.

Meg’s bi-monthly newsletters are posted in the Fellowship Hall at First.  Be sure to check them out for the most recent update.
