First Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod starts the first Lutheran church of the Missouri Synod in Shelby County.

New Ministry to be called Emmanuel Lutheran Church

April 10, 2001, Birmingham, Alabama -- The new ministry will be called Emmanuel Lutheran Church, "Emmanuel" means "God is with us."

First Lutheran Church invites you to join us in at our satellite ministry in Shelby County--Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Join us for worship service on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. at our temporary location, Noteworthy Music Studio in Greystone Park on Hwy 280, one mile south of Hwy. 119.

Construction is underway at the permanent site on Highway 119, three miles from Hwy. 280 and six miles from I-65. Turner Batson is the architectural firm for the project and KFP Construction, Inc. is building the sanctuary.
